10 Minute My Digital Studio Scrapbook Page

I LOVE our new My Digital Studio (MDS) software!  It is so easy to use!  Here is a page I did that literally took 10 minutes to create.

 

Yes, these are my fur babies!  They are 14 years old and still doing quite well for senior citizens!  This page was so quick to put together in MDS.  I used one of the layout templates, dropped in my pictures, set the photo mat options.  Added the header border which I created, and used the Cute Cats digital stamps that come with MDS to create the bottom border.  Added my journaling.  Done is less than 10 minutes!  So much fun!  If you want any more details, or want to learn more about My Digital Studio, just let me know!

Serene Snowflakes Catalog CASE

One of my stamping ladies wants to CASE the Serene Snowflakes card on page 26 of the Holiday mini for her holiday cards.  The card in the mini uses the Icicles Rub-Ons which are wonderful.  However, she needs to make 60 cards, so we needed an alternative to the rub-ons.  I was able to recreate the white snowflake using Whisper White Craft ink topped with Frost White Shimmer paint.  It worked pretty well, don't you think? 

I used two sponge daubers with the largest snowflake on the 3 small snowflake stamp.  I inked it up first with Whisper White craft ink, then topped it with a dauber of the Frost White Shimmer Paint.  It looks very shimmery in person.  The picture doesn't do it justice!  I'm going to order an extra set of the shimmer paints since they may not be available after the Holiday mini ends on January 4.  You can do a lot with them and I love the sparkle they add to my stamping!  Let me know if you want some too.

Last Minute Holiday Blog Tour - Day 4

Wow, I know I have enjoyed this blog tour!  I hope you have too! Today I have another holiday decoration idea.  I love mobiles, and as soon as I saw the Stampin’ Up! Table Setting die for the Big Shot I wanted to use the circlular die cut to make a mobile.  I stamped the Delightful Decorations ornaments in pairs and cut them out using the matching Ornament punch.  I love our punches that match our stamp sets!  I would never have taken the time to cut out all the ornaments by hand, I'm lazy!  From there is was just sticking it all together with lots of Sticky Strip.  Details below.

Last Minute Holiday Blog Tour - Day 3

Today's creations are two banners to celebrate the seasons.

Ok, I'll confess - this started as one banner with all three sayings from the Season of Thanks decor element.  But as they say, a mistake creates an opportunity.  So when I totally goofed with a completely crooked application of the first saying, I decided to use the remaining sayings to create 2 separate banners.  I currently have the Season of Thanks banner hanging on my office door.  I'll add some more embellishments to the Season of Love banner before I hang it up.  I'm pretty sure we'll have some cool new Valentine themed stamps sets and accessories in the upcoming Occasions mini catalog.  These banners where very quick & easy to make, complete ingredients are below.

Last Minute Holiday Blog Tour - Day 2

I hope you are enjoying the tour!  Today I have a simple Chanukkah card using one of our new single stamps, Let There Be Light.  

I love this stamp, I love the detail in the candles and the variations in the candle flames.  Quite a work of art for $7.95! I also made my own background paper using the Sassy Sparkles wheel with Versamark ink.  Yes, I still use wheels!  This is my favorite use for them, to create a background of my own design and colors.  The menorah image was inked using markers.  I add Crushed Curry accents with ribbon and layers and grounded it all on a Soft Suede base.  Quick & easy, full details below.

Last Minute Holiday Blog Tour - Day 1

Welcome to the tour!  We'll have lots of fun, quick & easy ideas for the holidays.  My first idea is a Christmas tree made out of paper loops and a fun foam base. 

I cut up about 3/4 of a sheet of DSP in 3/4 inch wide strips, then cut them into 2 inch long pieces.  I folded each 3/4" x 2" piece in half and stapled it to the fun foam base, starting from the bottom and working to the top.  Then I embellished with Fire Circle Rhinestone brads and a punched and glittered star topper.  Quick & easy, I stalped it all together while watching Twilight again, preparing for seeing New Moon with Maria.  Leave a comment if you recognize the DSP, it's not what you expect!

New Moon was fantastic!

Many thanks to my friend Maria Pane for inviting me to the Maryland premiere of New Moon!  We had a great time!  The movie will not disappoint us Twilight fans!  The special affects are amazing, especially the wolves!  I won't give away any details to spoil it for you.  I particularly liked the way they showed the passage of time of the first few months of Bella's depression.  And thank goodness there is more of Edward in the movie than in the book!  I also like that it's not gory. I was worried about that, I don't like gory movies.   And both Jacob and Edward are in top form!  You know what I mean!!!  LOL!  Kristen Stewart's acting is really good.  She does a wonderful job conveying all the emotions Bella goes through.  She is a much more talented actress than I realized.  I rarely go to movies more than once, but I will be seeing this one again.  And I'll be buying the DVD as soon as it's available.  New Moon ends with a great scene that leaves you wanting more.  Eclipse is due June 30, 2010.  I can't wait!!!

I'm so excited!

My friend Maria won tickets to go see The Twilight Saga: New Moon and she invited me to go with her!  I loved all the Twilight Series books and the first movie.  I've always enjoyed vampire stories, but something about the innocence and romance of the these books really intrigued me.  So I'll be back with all the details.  Until then, here's a card I made for Maria using My Digital Studio.  More about it later too!  It's so cool, you'll soon be sick of hearing me talk about it.

What Happened to Me?

I am back after quite a few months.  I figured Friday the 13th was an auspicious day to start back to bloggin!  Let's see, July & August was taken up by preparing, and then recovering from the Stampin' Up! Convention.  We had a great time!  But it was soooo hot!  Here's a picture of my roommate, Maria Pane and another Remarkable friend, Kathy Hamrick.  They were on stage for their $40K walk.  Both have earned the Caribbean Cruise!  Both are great ladies to know.  Maria's blog is Stampin and Scrappin with Riri, Kathy's is Country Roads Stamping.  Both are worth checking out!

 

Then in September I had pneumonia.  A couple of trips to a few doctors, a few hopsital stays and then a loooong recovery.  I have never been so exhausted and tired in my life!  It took a long time to get back to normal.  The only good thing about it was all the reading I did, it was about the only the thing I could do!  I read Nora Roberts Pagan Stone trilogy and her Flowers trilogy and re-read all the Twilight books and had a few good crys in the process.  But I'm back now, so stay tuned for more of my creations.
