I had to create an insert for my new 1 1/2" x 2" Simply Adorned charm for today! So at 10:00 pm last night I made this.
Used a scrap of Shades of Spring DSP, 4 Small Heart punches, a hand cut stem, Teeny Tiny Wishes for the saying and rub-ons and rhinestones from the Eggcellent Eggs kit. I am going to hate when that kit retires at the end of April!

Currently, my absolute favorite way to go green and use up my paper scraps is to make Simply Adorned charm inserts. However, Michele Reynolds covered that yesterday on the tour.
So I decided to try something else I have been thinking about. Using the Big Shot with fabric is the latest craze right now. I used to sew a lot. So like any good sewer, I have a huge stash of fabric just waiting to be used. I also drink a lot of water, preferably ice cold. So I am always in need of drink coasters. I found this adorable shamrock fabric in my stash, and decided to try making coasters using my Big Shot. Here is the result.
A set of 4 shamrock coasters, all wrapped and ready to give to a friend of mine. I'll have to make another set for me! This was so quick & easy, I think I'll make coasters to match all the seasons!
Each coaster used 2 pieces of fabric and 2 pieces of felt for the inside. I fused it all together with iron on fusible web, all from my stash. I cut the fabric and the fusible web with the scalloped circle bigz die. I cut the felt with the clear circle bigz die. Then I made the sandwich: fabric print side down, felt circle, fusible web, felt circle, fabric right side up. Here is half the sandwich (fabric, felt, fusible web). You can see that the felt circles fit perfectly inside the scalloped circle leaving just enough to seal the edges together.
Then I just followed the directions on the fusible web to fuse it all together. In my case, 15 seconds with a hot dry iron and a damp pressing cloth. The final result:
I wrapped four together in some of the luscious satin ribbon in the Occasions mini. Then I made a tag using the Go Green stamp and Sweet Pea Stitched Felt also in the Occasions mini.
I think these would make cute hostess gifts, craft show gifts, or a "thinking of you" gift.

I made this card for my Mom to give to a dear friend. It uses the flower from the Berry Christmas set to create a tree. A good use for my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get everything lined up nicely. Of course, all the little berries and the tree topping star are glittered!
I also stamped the inside and envelope. Mom has to have the best!

One of my stamping ladies wants to CASE the Serene Snowflakes card on page 26 of the Holiday mini for her holiday cards. The card in the mini uses the Icicles Rub-Ons which are wonderful. However, she needs to make 60 cards, so we needed an alternative to the rub-ons. I was able to recreate the white snowflake using Whisper White Craft ink topped with Frost White Shimmer paint. It worked pretty well, don't you think?
I used two sponge daubers with the largest snowflake on the 3 small snowflake stamp. I inked it up first with Whisper White craft ink, then topped it with a dauber of the Frost White Shimmer Paint. It looks very shimmery in person. The picture doesn't do it justice! I'm going to order an extra set of the shimmer paints since they may not be available after the Holiday mini ends on January 4. You can do a lot with them and I love the sparkle they add to my stamping! Let me know if you want some too.

Wow, I know I have enjoyed this blog tour! I hope you have too! Today I have another holiday decoration idea. I love mobiles, and as soon as I saw the Stampin’ Up! Table Setting die for the Big Shot I wanted to use the circlular die cut to make a mobile. I stamped the Delightful Decorations ornaments in pairs and cut them out using the matching Ornament punch. I love our punches that match our stamp sets! I would never have taken the time to cut out all the ornaments by hand, I'm lazy! From there is was just sticking it all together with lots of Sticky Strip. Details below.

Today's creations are two banners to celebrate the seasons.
Ok, I'll confess - this started as one banner with all three sayings from the Season of Thanks decor element. But as they say, a mistake creates an opportunity. So when I totally goofed with a completely crooked application of the first saying, I decided to use the remaining sayings to create 2 separate banners. I currently have the Season of Thanks banner hanging on my office door. I'll add some more embellishments to the Season of Love banner before I hang it up. I'm pretty sure we'll have some cool new Valentine themed stamps sets and accessories in the upcoming Occasions mini catalog. I hope you are enjoying the tour! Today I have a simple Chanukkah card using one of our new single stamps, Let There Be Light.
I love this stamp, I love the detail in the candles and the variations in the candle flames. Quite a work of art for $7.95! I also made my own background paper using the Sassy Sparkles wheel with Versamark ink. Yes, I still use wheels! This is my favorite use for them, to create a background of my own design and colors. The menorah image was inked using markers. I add Crushed Curry accents with ribbon and layers and grounded it all on a Soft Suede base. Quick & easy, full details below.

Welcome to the tour! We'll have lots of fun, quick & easy ideas for the holidays. My first idea is a Christmas tree made out of paper loops and a fun foam base.
I cut up about 3/4 of a sheet of DSP in 3/4 inch wide strips, then cut them into 2 inch long pieces. I folded each 3/4" x 2" piece in half and stapled it to the fun foam base, starting from the bottom and working to the top. Then I embellished with Fire Circle Rhinestone brads and a punched and glittered star topper. Quick & easy, I stalped it all together while watching Twilight again, preparing for seeing New Moon with Maria. Leave a comment if you recognize the DSP, it's not what you expect!
